Job Summary
Responsible for instructing swimmers in skills and strategies for improving swim strokes; develop and direct athlete expectations; communicate with swimmers, parents, Rolling Hills staff, officials and other coaches. Schedule and coordinate swim meets.

Responsibilities
- Hire two seasonal assistant swim team coaches and one seasonal dive coach. Provide direction to and coach alongside the assistant coaches periodically to ensure quality coaching, the development of swimmers and good communication with swimmers and parents.
- Schedule all sessions for swim & dive team, and attend all practice sessions for the swim team.
- Send regular communication to parents and participants about practice schedule, meet entries, meet results and all meet information. Meet information should be sent out by Wednesday at the latest prior to Friday meets or within 48 hours of league and state meets.
- Instruct athletes in fundamental and advanced skills and competition strategies.
- Organize swim meets including, but not limited to, scheduling individual race participants, recording and posting start time and distributing race ribbons.
- Coordinate with lifeguard guard team to assign assistants with set up and meet responsibilities at every meet.
- Attend and participate in the Club’s coaches meetings, committee meetings and swim association meetings with coaches from other clubs.
- Attend all league and state meets
- Communicate with participants, parents, Rolling Hills staff and other Rolling Hills members regarding meets, including creating a weekly newsletter with current information and providing information for publication in the Rolling Hills Courier.
- Distribute and maintain accurate records of Rolling Hills Code of Conduct.
- Maintain presence during swim team events and oversee any behavioral issues in relation to the Rolling Hills Code of Conduct.
- Maintain swim team and event equipment.
- Understand and oversee the use of the Meet Manager, Team Manager software and Dolphin system used for meets.
- Organize swim meet volunteers and track volunteer hours to be submitted at the end of the season.
- Develop positive relationships with participants and parents and provide motivational support and guidance.
- Coordinate and order swim and dive team awards for season and for the team banquet; facilitate athlete recognition at the banquet.
- Perform other tasks as required by the Facilities Manager and Assistant General Manager and General Manager.
Pay
$6,300-$7,000 stipend for the summer, paid bi-weekly during active pay periods
Education and Skill Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent. Post-Secondary education preferred.
- American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) training and certification preferred.
- Water Safety Instructor preferred.
- CPR and AED certification required.
- First Aid certification required.
- Valid Driver’s License required.

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
