Position Summary:
The Flagship Program Manager will lead and manage programming at the Flagship Clubhouse, ensuring it remains a creative and safe learning environment for youth. Responsibilities include community outreach, youth engagement, supporting youth-directed STEAM projects, supervising staff and volunteers, and developing partnerships to enhance student engagement in STEM. The Manager also ensures that the Flagship Clubhouse sets a high standard as a model for The Clubhouse Network, representing it in external relations with funders, partners, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct outreach to youth, families, and community leaders.
- Maintain the integrity of The Clubhouse learning model and introduce new STEM activities.
- Support youth in self-directed STEAM projects and connect them with mentors.
- Develop and implement college and career programs for youth.
- Supervise staff and volunteers, fostering leadership among youth participants.
- Assist with fundraising, publicity, and social media content creation.
- Ensure operational integrity and safety of the Clubhouse environment.
- Participate in Network meetings and collaborative projects.
- Manage recruitment and programming for initiatives like "Girls' Day."
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent organizational and program implementation skills.
- Effective written and oral communication, with comfort in presenting to diverse audiences.
- Ability to manage projects independently, from planning to evaluation.
- Proven ability to cultivate partnerships and integrate volunteers into operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record working with underserved youth, demonstrating commitment to youth development, social justice, and racial equity.
- Experience in an informal learning environment.
- Interest in using technology as a creative and empowering tool (e.g., video production, robotics, game design).
- Supervisory experience and project management skills.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, web design, and related software preferred.
