Responsibilities
- Monthly convenings with full Coalition
- Monthly meetings with OCS/DOE
- Daily/weekly email updates
- Strategic engagement and outreach planning with DOE/City Hall/OMB
- Oversight & Support of 3 subcommittees
- Strategic action planning to achieve coalition goals.
- Team Building
- Community Outreach - Communicating/Coordinating with other organizations & coalitions
- Media engagement
- Ongoing Research & Development to ensure advocacy & policy efforts are current/relevant
- Facilitating and expediting flow of communication on Community School related topics
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time (mostly domestically).
Qualifications
Education: College degree, some college or equivalent experience
- Experience speaking and presenting in both internal and public settings.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills.
- Leadership skills: particularly the ability to lead by influence, collaboration, and consensus-building.
- Organizational skills that include capacity to plan, implement, and oversee multiple, simultaneous projects and initiatives. Ability to set priorities decisively, assure accountability, and allocate resources appropriately to achieve results.
- An understanding of the particular dynamics between the nonprofit sector, the Department of Education and City Hall
Salary : $35 - $40
