Job Summary
The District Manager is responsible for directing, educating and supporting our store managers and team members to achieve results through meeting sales, service, quality and operational standards.
The District Manager is a strong leader with exceptional communication skills, capable of effectively collaborating with multi-store teams to uphold the mission, vision, goals, and values of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Hawaii consistently. The District Manager possess robust interpersonal skills to deliver timely and professional performance feedback, coupled with extensive experience in food and beverage operations.
Responsibilities
- Sales Accountability: Take ownership of sales growth within the district, supporting Store Managers and their teams in achieving daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual goals.
- Leadership Alignment: Demonstrate leadership skills aligned with our company culture, core values, guiding principles, and house rules.
- Expense Management: Monitor and analyze controllable store expenses to optimize profitability.
- Proactive Customer Service: Anticipate and address customer service opportunities promptly to uphold our service standards with urgency.
- Strategic Planning: Develop weekly priorities based on sales, margin, labor, and service results, and coordinate store visit schedules with the General Manager/Director of Operations to address areas for improvement.
- Effective Store Visits: Conduct thorough store visits, communicating successes and areas for improvement promptly, and ensuring follow-up on assigned tasks.
- Store Management Supervision: Supervise store management activities, including directing the management team, providing coaching, conducting corrective counselling and disciplinary, and administering management evaluations.
- Communication Liaison: Act as a liaison between senior management, main office support departments, and district stores to ensure timely feedback, information sharing, and response to operational needs.
- Training Facilitation: Ensure adequate training for store managers through hands-on training, either working alongside them at the store level or facilitating group/classroom sessions.
- Product Quality Standards: Uphold the company's product quality standards consistently across all stores in the district.
- Drink Making Oversight: Supervise the drink-making process and re-certification to ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in all district stores.
- Merchandising Compliance: Enforce corporate merchandising standards and schematics to optimize sales and product turnover in stores.

Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Minimum two (2) years multi-unit managerial experience preferred
- Minimum three (3) years coffee or food & beverage managerial experience required
- Minimum of two (2) years customer service experience required
Physical Requirements
- Required to work occasional evenings and weekends
- Frequent travel to neighbour islands
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
- Regularly required to handle food, hot beverages, and work with sharp objects
- Frequent standing and walk for long periods of time, approximately 90% of shift
- Ability to bend over and kneel frequently
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds; occasionally carry up to 25 pounds
- Required to work in cold temperatures for long periods of time
