Brew Crew Opportunity
As part of the Americas Real Estate team based in Los Angeles, California, the Café Design Planner will support the design, delivery, and prototype development, for both Company Owned and Franchise locations within the Americas region. This will include new ground-up projects including drive-thru, in-line and kiosk locations, as well as the refresh, relocation, add-ons, and remodel projects of existing locations. This role will work closely with both internal and external teams that support real-estate, design, procurement, construction, and facilities, as well as cross functional teams including but not limited to operations, marketing, merchandising, finance, and legal. This role, and the teams’ work, will be instrumental in developing and documenting new and/or evolved prototype standards and processes, and the implementation of those standards into the delivery of new locations across the Americas. Critical to this role will be:
-Adherence to agreed schedules and budgets.
-Working within a small but agile team in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing and evolving needs.
Key Responsibilities
This role will:
- Require a team player that can deliver on the defined and agreed workload and tasks, while collaborating closely with many internal and external cross-functional groups and consultancies.
- Be able to work independently with limited oversight to achieve defined high objectives, goals and schedules.
- Require a balance of creative and technical skills to drive design but also deliver on program and business objectives.
Your Ingredients:
Experience and Skills, must haves:
- Expert in/with CAD production software including Revit and AutoCAD
- Expert in/with 3D modeling software and/or integrated tools including Revit and SketchUp
- Excellent documentation, presentation and communication skills
- Experience in the production of Architectural construction and bid documentation for hospitality/restaurant/food service projects.
- Experience in the coordination and integrations of Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing, Fire protection, Structural and civil engineering works into project documentation and project delivery
- Experience with the process of submitting for and obtaining building approvals (permits) and health department approvals (permits)
- Basic skills with Microsoft Office Suite
- Solid organizational skills including file management.
Experience and Skills, preferred:
- Experience with ground-up development projects
- Experience with entitlement / land development approval processes
- Experience developing and managing prototype documentation and standards.
- Experience in Construction Administration processes including submittals, (RFIs) Requests for Clarifications and the issuance of documents specific to Construction Change directives.
- Experience managing OFI (Owner Furnished Item) vendors and their deliverables specific to, and for example, Signage, Furniture, lighting, and various equipment.
- Familiar with OFI (KE) Kitchen Equipment and interacting with KE vendors specific to restaurant equipment and stainless-steel assemblies.
- Familiar with IT and Low Voltage (LV) equipment packages and their integration into retail and/or restaurant projects
- Basic skills and awareness of construction budgets
- Basic skills and understanding of CapEx and OpEx budgets specific to multi-unit development.
- Basic skills using file sharing and management software and tools.
- Experience with BlueBeam and/or ProCore
