Job Title: Adjunct Instructor – Medical Billing & Coding/Coding & Revenue Cycle Management
Summary: The Adjunct Instructor for Medical Billing & Coding/Coding & Revenue Cycle Management is responsible for leveraging their expertise to develop, maintain, and deliver education services to students by creating and maintaining a core curriculum, ensuring its delivery, and preparing course plans and materials.
General Education Responsibilities:
An educational Medical Billing & Coding/Coding & Revenue Cycle Management Adjunct Instructor's primary responsibility to students is imparting knowledge, developing career abilities, and instilling professional attitudes within a creative and enthusiastic learning environment. In addition, faculty have administrative and developmental responsibilities, including advising students to enhance their educational experience. Medical Billing & Coding/Coding & Revenue Cycle Management provide students the skills needed to convert clinical documents in codes used by healthcare institutions for claim submission and payments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate students' development of proficiency in essential medical billing and coding skills, mastery of medical management software, and a comprehensive understanding of interpreting and filing medical documentation, billing forms, and insurance claims.
- Provide instruction on a range of subjects within the Medical Billing & Coding/Coding & Revenue Cycle Management program, including foundational knowledge of current CPT, HCPCS, and ICD code sets, while ensuring students acquire the necessary skills in medical billing, coding, and medical documentation processes.
- Identify and review the components of the Nationally Registered Certified Coding Specialist (NRCCS) Certification Examination
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations
- Monitor instructor lesson plans and their posting
- Adheres to academic policies/procedures for compliance
- Ensure compliance with all internal compliance standards and processes
- Ensure compliance with ABHES, state, and federal regulations.
- Monitor TWC, Federal, and Accrediting Standards Compliance.
- Adheres to academic policies/procedures for compliance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements; Knowledge. Skills, Abilities, and Accountability:
Knowledge/Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree is required and relative experience to meet state (TWC) and ABHES accreditation
- requirements.
- Minimum of (3) years of occupational experience as a medical billing, and/or coding specialist to meet state, programmatic, and institutional accreditation requirements
- Current Coding Certification required
