What are the responsibilities and job description for the ASL Tutor position at The College of St. Scholastica?
Job Purpose/Description
The ASL Tutors tutor students at all levels of ASL language study, but work primarily with first and second-year language students in classes (TA) and individual sessions.
Job Duties
- Conduct one-on-one oral practice assignments with first and second year students
- Basic record keeping of oral assignments
- Offer walk-in or Zoom-based tutoring service during posted hours
- Proctoring exams
- Administering the Spanish Placement Exam during new student orientations
- Maintaining and posting available hours
- Maintain confidentiality
- Other duties as necessary or assigned
Required Qualifications
- Must be a current CSS student
- Proficiency in ASL
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Professional presence to represent the College to the public
- Good attendance
Preferred Qualifications
- Good interpersonal skills
