Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Assessment and Data Management
- Collect, analyze, and report on assessment data at the course, program, and institutional levels to drive continuous improvement.
- Develop, implement and oversee Program Assessment and Program Review on the college wide level.
- Coordinate with CTLA Director, the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, and other stakeholders to ensure the alignment of assessments with accreditation and institutional goals.
- Work with Student Affairs in the development of a Co-Curricular assessment plan.
- Manage and enhance assessment systems, ensuring they are effective in tracking and reporting data.
- Effectively use data systems to support professional development efforts on campus.
- Provide expertise in the use of data for program-level assessments/reviews and institutional strategic planning.
- Coordinate with greater college assessment efforts as an ex-officio member on the College Learning Outcome (CLO) committee.
- Serve as a resource for programs in the design and implementation of high-quality assessment.
- Assist in integrating research-based assessment practices and tools into and across programs.
- Provide one-on-one and group consultations on assessment best-practice, including the use of academic technologies to collect and analyze data.
- Assist in providing data to further the broader mission of the CTLA, particularly in the area of professional development at the program level.
- Partner with faculty liaisons to identify and address common instructional challenges, developing scalable solutions for faculty across disciplines.
- Design and deliver training sessions on effective assessment practices, focusing on data-driven decision-making.
- Facilitate workshops and provide ongoing support for faculty, program directors and chairs for assessment best practice.
- Assist the CTLA Director in other workshops and training as needed.
- Collaborate with the CTLA Director and Instructional Designer to align assessment tools with Learning Management Systems (Brightspace) and instructional design best practice.
- Ensure that assessments align with institutional priorities such as general education outcomes, College Learning Outcomes (CLO) and specialized accreditation standards (though not limited to those areas).
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of assessment systems and practices, providing actionable recommendations for improvements.
- Degree (Masters or above required)
- Higher education teaching experience
- Experience with designing, implementing, and evaluating assessment systems and practices (in higher education preferred)
- Proficiency in technology systems for data management and assessment (eg. learning management systems)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- The ability to collect, analyze, and present complex data clearly, using data visualization to make findings accessible and actionable.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
- Commitment to equity and inclusion, with a focus on reducing bias in assessment design and delivery.
