Job Purpose/Description
As an Orientation Coordinator, you will work as a team member with Admissions and Student Affairs to coordinate and implement summer Orientation. You will assist new traditional first-year and transfer students in their adjustment to all aspects of college life. The position involves coordinating the efforts of various departments at the College to provide a smooth transition to St. Scholastica.
Our Orientation Team Delta Members work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff and families to provide new students and those in transition with personal connections, knowledge, and resources that will foster lifelong learning and participation in our multifaith, multicultural Benedictine community.
The hours of this position are full time during May and June. (Perhaps negotiable to part time as long as it full time in the days surrounding the Orientation dates) The position would be 20 hours per week during the remainder of the summer. Hours may be flexible. There may be an opportunity to work some hours in the Admissions Office to make it a full time position all summer.

Job Duties
- Coordinate Delta Leader selection and training program. This would include:
- Public relations for Delta Leader positions.
- Recruitment of interviewers and scheduling interviews.
- Notify all applicants of the decision.
- Monitor and keep track of expenses.
- Plan and coordinate the First-year Student Orientation Programs in spring and summer. This would include:
- Making arrangements for housing and other meeting spaces.
- Making arrangements for food.
- Working with the Academic Advising Office regarding pre-advisement activities and Delta training.
- Making arrangements for computer labs and laptop carts when needed.
- Making arrangements for various faculty/administrator presentations.
- Sending follow-up memos to all people/departments involved with programs.
- Preparing packets.
- Communication with new students and parents.
- Coordinate the First-Year Student Advisement Program.
- Consistently keep in contact with incoming students and their parents. Answer questions promptly. (phone, drop in, or email)
- Monitor online New and Transfer Student Orientation.
- Plan and assist on all details for the New and Transfer Student Orientation
- Assist the Academic Advisement Office with the make-up registration.
- Work closely with the Staff Orientation Coordinator and other Student Orientation Coordinator.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Students must be current CSS students.
- Position is available to students whom have shown exemplary actions as a leader on campus.
- Cumulative GPA requirement is 3.00
- Applicant must have sincere commitment to the position and its goals, be comfortable working autonomously, be resourceful, be open to feedback, and be willing to make a one-year commitment.
- Preference may be given to those who have been a member of the Summer Delta Leader team.

- The student coordinator will work 5 hours per week during remainder of spring semester (if possible), 40 hours per week during May and June (possible part time if preferred) and 20 hours per week in July and August. Coordinators must be available to work all day on Summer Orientation days.
