What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Football Coach position at The College of Wooster?
Qualifications : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.
Five to seven years' related experience highlighting a successful record of coaching and recruiting at the intercollegiate level; collegiate head coaching experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge of NCAA regulations and guidelines governing the recruitment and retention of student-athletes.
The ability to obtain College driver certification is preferred.
CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification is required (and can be completed after hire).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Proficiency in writing reports and professional correspondence.
Ability to make administrative / procedural decisions and judgments.
Skilled in solving practical problems and handling diverse situations with limited standardization.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Knowledge :
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Basic Word / Excel and ability to learn and operate recruiting software.
Knowledge of financial / business analysis techniques.
Abilities :
Commitment to supporting students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety regulations.
Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
Experience managing multiple projects under pressure while maintaining composure and flexibility to respond to changing priorities.

Work Environment :
Coaches are required to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays.
Travel for athletic contests, recruiting, coaches meetings and convention / caucus attendance is required.
Some heavy lifting / moving equipment is required.
While performing the duties of this job, the Assistant Coach regularly travels in outside weather conditions and is exposed to wet or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, dirt, and dust.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Physical Demands :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The individual must regularly lift and / or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and / or move up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
