Job Description:The Department of Economics at the College of Wooster invites applications for two one-year visiting positions at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in August 2025. Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. (or completion anticipated) in Economics, Business Economics, or a closely held discipline. Candidates with expertise in interdisciplinary fields are encouraged to apply. Please note, the College does not sponsor H1-B visas for short-term visiting appointments.We are especially interested in hiring faculty who can contribute to the intellectual vibrancy and diversity of the academic community through their teaching, research, and service. The College of Wooster enrolls a diverse student body (21% domestic students of color and 15% international students); all applicants are expected to discuss their experience working with diverse student populations.The successful candidates will demonstrate excellence in teaching and a strong ability to advise undergraduate research. The candidate’s research and teaching may be in any field of economics, with a preference for Applied Microeconomics, including labor, health, education, or environmental. As a liberal arts college valuing critical inquiry, we welcome candidates who embrace interdisciplinarity and pluralism. In addition to offering elective courses related to fields of expertise, teaching responsibilities will include Principles of Economics. The candidate will also provide one-on-one advising of students through the College’s mentored senior thesis program.
