The Collier Companies is seeking a Development Associate
This role will report out of The Collier Companies Florida Home Office in Gainesville, which offers beautiful natural areas, a temperate climate, and tremendous educational, cultural, and commercial opportunities. The Development Associate is responsible for working with Development team members in the pursuit of new development opportunities, conducting market research, obtaining entitlements, conducting due diligence, administering the design process, managing the development schedule, and overseeing project level financial analysis. The Development Associate reports directly to the Development Manager.

Qualifications
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Involvement in all facets of the real estate development process from inception to stabilization including acquisition, entitlements, planning, design, permitting, construction, lease-up, and stabilization.

Collaborate in underwriting new development opportunities, researching demographic and market analysis, and conducting development due diligence.

Prepare and manage project life cycle financial analysis and reporting for new developments including hard cost and soft cost budgets, pro forma, and quantitative benchmarks.

Work with consultants on preparing all design plans and renderings.

Review and analyze all project design plans and ensure designs are compliant with local, state, and federal codes.

Prepare consultant’s contracts and manage change orders.

Conduct and document general construction site visits.

Participate in development meetings.

Coordinate with architect, engineer, landscape architects, interior designers, finance, operations, construction, and development managers.

Ensure strict compliance with plans and communicates to the Development Manager any critical issues.

Develop monthly project reports and reviews each phase of the construction process.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or other related field
-
MBA or MSRE is preferred
-
One to three years’ experience in real estate, development, or finance
-
Strong Quantitative skills and Excel background
-
Multi-Family real estate experience a plus
