JOB OVERVIEW : Greet and assist pool guests with pool chairs, towels, umbrellas and pool service in a gracious and professional manner while in accordance with the hotel's standards of quality, presentation and sanitation. This role must strive to provide anticipatory service at all times. Complete opening and closing procedures and assigned side work. Practice social distancing, observe mask mandates and maintain handwashing routine as ordered by the CDC, Palm Beach County, and the State of Florida.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Consistently provide friendly, engaging, and anticipatory guest service and heartfelt hospitality.
- Complete opening procedures, sweep and stock the pool area.
- Ensure the entire pool area is clean and presentable for guests.
- Responsible for coordinating the entire pool station and communicating front- and back-of-house personnel to provide an experience that meets or exceeds guest expectations.
- Welcome and greet every pool guest.
- Provide immediate attention to all guests upon seating in the pool area.
- Assist pool guests with all service requirements regarding pool functions. These requirements include but are not limited to placing pool chairs, assisting with umbrellas, providing towels, and providing sunscreen.
- Assess pool guests' needs and preferences.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness around the pool area.
- Immediately respond to and correct any potential safety conditions such as a wet floor.
- Offer and deliver pool amenities to guests in the pool area.
- Follow up with guests to ensure satisfaction.
- Provide towels to pool guests and assist them with chairs and umbrellas.
- Collect soiled towels and transport them to the laundry.
- Stock the pool area with fresh towels.
- Observe guests, respond to additional requests.
- Clean. sanitize, and reset vacated tables or lounge chairs.
- Remove soiled dishes.
- Maintain the highest level of standards of quality of products and service at all times.
- Advise supervisor / manager of any complaints as soon as they occur.
- Perform closing procedures, complete checklists and assigned side work.
- Submit orders to supervisor; assist with receipt of deliveries.
- Slice, pit, and prepare fruit garnishes for pool amenities.
- Clean and sanitize assigned areas and equipment thoroughly before and after shift end.
- Assist support staff with polishing glasses and silverware, folding napkins, cleaning and sanitizing menus, etc.
- Assist guests with pool retail purchases.
- Monitor and handle guest complaints following the instant pacification procedures and ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and personal hygiene.
- Demonstrate ability to multi-task, manage time and work well under pressure.
- Adhere to local and government compliance with health and safety regulations to ensure a clean and safe work environment for guests and employees.
- Maintain knowledge of all safety and emergency procedures and be aware of accident prevention policies.
- Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards.
- Maintain a professional courteous manner with all guests and fellow employees.
- Assist with special and deep cleaning projects as assigned by a supervisor.
- Perform any other duties as requested by supervisor.
