Essentials Job Functions
- Consistently offer professional, courteous, and engaging service.
- Ensure that all calls are responded to within 3 rings and using correct greeting and telephone etiquette.
- Promptly answer Room Service calls, announce any specials, promote menu items and answer questions regarding preparation methods.
- Document orders, repeat items back to callers to ensure accuracy and quote expected arrival time with speed and accuracy.
- Processes payment for orders upon return of the Room Service Server.
- Complies with accounting guidelines regarding receipt of payments, check total verification, tip disbursement, cash drawer and house bank management. Maintains house bank in accordance with policy.
- Answer calls for pick-up of trays and/or tables and direct bus person to retrieve items.
- Respond to guest complaints in a positive manner, negotiate a compromise and implement solution.
- Maintain complete knowledge of:
- All hotel features/amenities/services and hours of operations.
- Restaurant availability.
- All hotel restaurant food concepts, menu price range and ambiance.
- Scheduled daily group activities, names and VIPS
- Local events, attractions, holiday schedules
- Must always be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and all other employees.
- Assist in ensuring amenities are correctly completely
- Use the guest's name at every opportunity
- Go above and beyond and take initiative to resolve guest complaints and create loyalty
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness and working condition of departmental equipment/supplies
- Maintain knowledge of all safety and emergency procedures, and accident prevention policies.
- Ensure that the appropriate level of confidentiality and security for all guest and company information is achieved, aiding in creating a feeling of comfort and confidence for guests.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the supervisor or manager.
- Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of restaurant/ hotel experience in a fine dining/upscale restaurant/hotel.
- Excellent guest service skills and a passion for hospitality.
- Ability to heavy volume of phone calls.
- Excellent telephone etiquette skills.
- Oral Comprehension - demonstrates ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English.
- Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with guests and co-workers.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Strong team-work orientation, well organized, ability to follow instructions.
- Detail-oriented and thorough.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to perform consistent work to the hotel's high standards.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to maintain personal hygiene.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, always remaining calm and courteous
- Previous guest service experience in a luxury hotel/resort.
- Previous experience with RESY reservation system.
- Previous five-star guest service training.
- Fluent in a secondary language
