JOB OVERVIEW:
Welcome and assist guests at the pool courteously and professionally while adhering to the hotel's quality, presentation, and sanitation standards. Complete daily tasks such as moving loungers and umbrellas, distributing amenities and towels, keeping the pool loungers clean, maintaining the grounds, assisting servers with plate removal, and ensuring all guests have a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
ESSENTIALS JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Consistently provide friendly, engaging, and anticipatory guest service and heartfelt hospitality.
- Ensure that the entire pool area is always clean and presentable.
- Welcome and greet every pool guest.
- Properly recognize hotel guests and be able to use their names.
- Provide immediate attention to all guests upon seating in the pool area.
- Assist pool guests with all pool service offerings and functions, including but not limited to placing pool chairs, assisting with umbrellas, and providing towels and sunscreen.
- Provide guests with water, spritzing, towel service, and assistance with seating arrangements at the pool.
- Assess pool guests’ needs and preferences and make recommendations.
- Monitor all guests for alcohol intake to appropriate levels.
- Follow up with guests to ensure satisfaction and recommendations.
- Remove soiled dishes and maintain cleanliness of the pool area.
- Clean, sanitize, and reset vacated tables and chairs.
- Observe guests and respond to additional requests.
- Offer and deliver pool amenities to guests in the pool area.
- Collect soiled towels and transport them to the laundry.
- Stock the pool area with fresh towels.
- Sweep the pool area. Maintain organization of all the pool equipment, including but not limited to Umbrella bases, Electric pool float pumps, Pool Nets, Ice Buckets, Pool Loungers, Server trays, iPads
- Immediately respond to and correct potential safety conditions such as a wet floor.
- Maintain the highest level of standards of quality of products and services at all times.
- Advise the supervisor/manager of any complaints as soon as they occur.
- Perform opening and closing procedures, complete checklists, and assign side work.
- Submit orders to supervisor; assist with receipt of deliveries.
- Organize the pool area to streamline service.
- Clean and sanitize assigned areas and equipment thoroughly in between guest use, before and after shift end.
- Monitor and handle guest complaints following the instant pacification procedures and ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and personal hygiene.
- Demonstrate ability to multi-task, manage time, and work well under pressure.
- Adhere to local and government compliance with health and safety regulations to ensure a clean and safe work environment for guests and employees.
- Maintain knowledge of all safety and emergency procedures and be aware of accident prevention policies.
- Follow outlet policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Maintain a professional, courteous manner with all guests and fellow employees.
- Assist with special and deep cleaning projects as assigned by a supervisor.
- Perform any other duties as requested by the supervisor.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with monthly food & beverage and paper product inventory within F&B outlets.
Qualifications
Education/Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of server or bartender experience in a luxury hotel/club/restaurant.
- Excellent food & beverage/wine knowledge.
- Proficient in the steps of service.
- Excellent guest service skills and passion for hospitality.
- Prior experience with Food & Beverage POS systems.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English.
- Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with guests and co-workers.
- Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Detail-oriented and thorough.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to perform consistent work to the hotel’s high standards.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to maintain personal hygiene.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to focus on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous.
Desirable:
- Previous luxury guest service/Forbes training.
- Responsible Alcohol Service certificate.
- Fluent in a secondary language.
