Pre-Employment Requirements:

- TB skin test: Must have a test or provide proof of one within the past year.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
- High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
- Provide proof of Peer Support Specialist certificate or equivalent.
- Must be able to attest to at least 1 year of sobriety.
Position Summary: Responsible for the health, safety, and well-being of each client and for ensuring the highest level of care is provided.
Skill Sets: Demonstrate good oral and written communications. Maintain a supportive and encouraging working relationship with supervisors, leaders and clients. Must have basic computer skills. Demonstrate a non-judgmental and non-biased disposition towards clients. Be able to provide a structured environment within the facility.
Physical and Environmental Demands: Visual acuity and manual dexterity needed for required paperwork. Frequent talking and hearing are necessary when communicating with co-workers, families, and other service providers. Physical demands are light with walking, standing, and occasional stooping.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide quality customer service to personnel, persons-served, families, and stakeholders.
- Help maintain the health safety and welfare of personnel, person served and stakeholders.
- Do not leave the facility unless approved by the supervisor.
- Keep and monitor the phone and answer it, complete screenings and take messages.
- Ensure and maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in night and morning meditation.
- Walk around the facility and complete 30-minute checks of each client.
- Collaborate with Program Manager and facility staff in program development.
- Assist in the Quality Assurance of the agency.
- Participate in staff meetings; monthly or as directed.
- Assist in the supervision of clients and respond to all requests and emergencies during duty hours.
- Actively encourage and promote client involvement in classes/program.
- Assist clients in their adjustment to community living.
- Assist with medication observation.
- Evaluate/monitor/observe/document group attendance and participation in collaboration with clinical team.
- Verbally de-escalate tense or aggressive situations to calm clients.
- Address and document all aggressive behaviors on the incident report form.
- Hold accountability.
- Check facility and bed areas for proper cleanliness: beds must be made, no items should be on top of lockers or nightstands, etc.
- Monitor client visitations and observe the sign-in and sign-out process. Search visitors' bags prior to entry into the facility.
- Ensure clients are not using cleaning chemicals.
- Ensure the program is being cleaned and sanitized regularly.
- Ensure that clients/visitors are smoking in designated smoking areas.
- Complete documentation within a 24-hour time period.
- Complete Patient Communications at the end of each shift.
- Complete 6 CEUs annually and complete supervision each month.
- If approved by Risk/Compliance, provide local transportation.
- Other duties as assigned
