JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Collections is accountable for ensuring operations occur in a manner that is compliant with all applicable regulations and standards. Responsible for the development of staff members and the creation of an environment of continuous improvement. Responsible for creating an engaged, collaborative and productive culture. Ensures blood donors and blood drive sponsors receive exceptional service. Plans and manages all automated and non-automated blood collection functions. Provides direction and development to the Collections Leadership team and the Collections Support Team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned):
- Responsible for providing the processes, infrastructure, staff and training to ensure exceptional service is provided to all blood donors and blood drive sponsors.
- Responsible for the proper staffing levels for Collections, and ensuring that scheduling is efficient and effective.
- Responsible for oversight of the activities of Collections staff and ensuring all processes are compliant and safe. Oversight consists of allocation of resources, monitoring, correcting, improving and updating all technical, regulatory, administrative, and personnel functions.
- Responsible for accomplishment of key department and organizational objectives including assigned goals, operational productivity targets, compliance measures and staff engagement metrics.
- Management of the Collections Support Team to maintain a collaborative and compliant environment to meet the needs of the Collection operations, including training, compliance, contracts related to Collections equipment, donor data entry, record reviews, and document retention.
- Work with I.T. to ensure optimum processes and procedures related to system connectivity and the transfer of donor data at all mobile drives.
- Ensure compliance with quality control functions, documents and industry regulations. Stay current on changing regulations and impact to areas of oversight.
- Evaluate all donor concerns, including all survey data, and manage the process for the resolution of those concerns.
- Develops, executes, and manages all operational support functions related to the success of the Donor Rewards Program and the Donor App.
- Manage the Rees alarm system for all operations.
- Prepare annual budget for collection and donor services area and monitor regularly. Develop plans to maintain or adjust operations as needed based on financial forecasting.
- Evaluate, develop and implement new processes and procedures in areas of oversight. Responsible for maintaining all SOPs necessary to meet requirements of the FDA, AABB, and other regulatory agencies.
- Comply with all policies and procedures as outlined in the CBC Team Member Handbook, CBC SOPs or directives. Maintains current level of job-related skills by attending inservices and training sessions and reading publications.
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree desired.
- 10 years management experience required, ideally with increasing levels of responsibility. Medical background or previous blood center experience desired.
