Job Title: Summer Camp Coordinator

The Summer Camp Coordinator position is critical to the success of our summer camp program. They create a safe, engaging environment favorable to the personal growth and development of every student. They establish effective rapport with students and inspire them to develop faith, knowledge, skills, and attitudes, which will prepare them for life. They challenge every student to excel at the highest level and support positive relationships between students and teachers, which fosters leadership in students and makes for a successful summer program.
This position reports directly to the Summer Camp Director.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership:
- Understand with complete clarity Community Church’s mission and vision.
- Provide a leadership presence daily and assist the Director with leadership responsibilities.
- Set an example for the staff professionally and spiritually.
- Assist Director with evaluating employee performance and help to improve professionalism.
- Assist Director in creation of assignments to different groups based on proven ability and availability.
- Ensure all safety, security, and crisis management processes and procedures are understood and being followed at all events.
- Listen to feedback from a variety of sources for program effectiveness.
Preparation:
- Assist Director in facilitation of interviews for teacher and counselor positions.
- Assist Director and Intern Coordinator in facilitation of student interviews for intern positions.
- Assist in leading employee training during orientation.
- Help Director strategize the daily task load.
Communication:
- Assist Director in communicating staff meetings and lead student assemblies, explaining program rules and expectations.
- Responsible for communicating daily expectations to staff.
- Responsible for outlining daily tasks and responsibilities for employees from the master camp calendar.
- Assist Director in preparing and updating the summer camp policies and procedures for employees.
- Assist Director in communicating weekly programming with families.
Programming:
- Assistant Director as a leader of Summer Camp by assisting in staffing, scheduling, and communication consistent with the school’s mission, values, philosophy of education, and yearly achievement goals.
- Schedule staff activities/events – end of summer party, hangouts, worship mornings, etc.
- Ensure alignment, communication, and synergy.
- Assist Director in conducting regular meetings and one on ones with staff to ensure smooth program operation.
- Supervise employees during on and off campus activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Commitment:
- Camp planning February-June 2025
- Camp Orientation week: June 9-13
- Camp Weeks: June 16-20 (no camp June 19), June 23-27, July 7-11, & July 14-18
- 7:00 am to 5:00 pm

Education:
Desired
- High school diploma
- CPR/First Aid and/or MAT Certified
- Be at least 18 years of age
Required
- Be a genuine believer and active follower of Christ
- Have at least one year of experience of working in a camp, childcare, or youth ministry
- Have knowledge of the Bible and the ability to lead Bible lessons
- Be able to communicate effectively to parents & other staff
