Job Title: Summer Camp Internship Coordinator

The Internship Coordinator position is critical to the success of our summer camp program. They create a safe, engaging environment favorable to the personal growth and development of every student. They establish effective rapport with students and inspire them to develop faith, knowledge, skills, and attitudes, which will prepare them for life. They challenge every student to excel at the highest level and support positive relationships between students and teachers, which fosters leadership in students and makes for a successful summer program.
This position reports directly to the Summer Camp Director.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership:
- Understand with complete clarity Community Churchs mission and vision
- Provide a leadership presence daily
- Set an example for the staff professionally and spiritually
- Assist with evaluating intern performance and help marginal interns to improve
- Engage interns in Biblical and vocational learning opportunities
- Make intern assignments to different groups based on proven ability and availability
- Ensure all safety, security, and crisis management processes and procedures are understood and being followed at all events
- Listen to feedback from a variety of sources for program effectiveness
Preparation:
- Assist in facilitating student interviews for intern positions
- Lead intern training during orientation
- Strategize daily task load based on camp and intern needs
Communication:
- Conduct intern meetings and lead student assemblies, explaining program rules and expectations
- Responsible for making daily announcements
- Responsible for outlining daily tasks and responsibilities for interns from the master camp calendar
- Assist in preparing and updating the summer camp policies and procedures for interns
Programming:
- Act as the leader of internship programming by assisting in staffing, scheduling, and communication consistent with the schools mission, values, philosophy of education, and yearly achievement goals.
- Work with the summer camp leadership team to schedule staff activities/events end of summer party, hangouts, worship mornings, etc.
- Collaborate with the summer camp leadership team to ensure alignment, communication, and synergy.
- Conduct regular meetings and one on ones with interns to ensure smooth program operation.
- Supervise interns during on and off campus activities
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:
Desired
- High school diploma
- CPR/First Aid and/or MAT Certified
- Be at least 18 years of age
Required
- Be a genuine believer and active follower of Christ
- Have at least one year of experience of working in a camp, childcare, or youth ministry
- Have knowledge of the Bible and the ability to lead Bible lessons
- Be able to communicate effectively to parents & other staff
