About the Position:
The Resident Services Coordinator (RSC) at Alder House and Dawson Park plays a critical role in enhancing the quality of life for residents by facilitating access to essential services, community resources, and engagement opportunities. This position acts as a liaison between residents, property management, community partners, and the Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) team. The RSC will work to support housing stability, build community connections, and foster independence among residents. This role does not involve direct case management but focuses on community-building, event coordination, and resident support.

Key Responsibilities:

Resident Engagement and Support:

  • Build trust with residents and foster integration into the community.
  • Welcome new residents, provide orientations, share community resources, and assist non-PSH residents in understanding property management and services available.
  • Facilitate activities that promote independence and healthy lifestyles for residents, both individually and in group settings.
  • Mediate conflicts between residents and property management, focusing on housing stability and problem-solving.
  • Respond to resident crises with de-escalation techniques and collaborate with PSH staff when needed.

Program Development and Coordination:

  • Plan and coordinate at least six events each month focused on creativity, wellness, lifelong learning, community-building, and food access.
  • Collaborate with community partners, PSH case managers, and CfPA’s Community Health Navigators to implement impactful programs.
  • Increase attendance and engagement in programs, and plan special events (e.g., holiday meals, workshops, etc.).
  • Provide feedback on program improvements based on resident participation and feedback.
  • Work with the Volunteer Program Manager to identify volunteer opportunities to support programming.

Information, Referral, and Resident Advocacy:

  • Maintain regular office hours for drop-in information and referral services.
  • Educate non-PSH residents on lease-related questions and housing policies, working with property management to clarify issues.
  • Assist residents with housing stability concerns and provide referrals to community resources.

Data, Reporting, and Communications:

  • Create and distribute a monthly calendar of events and property information to residents, ensuring timely updates on any changes.
  • Collaborate on a monthly newsletter featuring updates on community resources, housing stability, and more.
  • Submit regular reports on program participation and outcomes.
  • Assist in collecting annual resident surveys and support the PSH Program Supervisor in reporting.
  • Track and analyze data to enhance program engagement and effectiveness.

Coordination with Property Management:

  • Attend bi-weekly meetings with property management and PSH providers to discuss resident needs and collaborate on programming.
  • Communicate resident concerns related to housing stability, especially for those with disabilities affecting their ability to manage lease requirements.

Food Security and Community Support:

  • Support food security programs and help with transportation, setup, and distribution of goods for food pantries.
  • Coordinate food access programs that meet resident needs.

Dawson Park Specific Support (Weekly Commitment):

  • Dedicate two hours each week on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Mondays, plus four hours on the 4th Monday, to support Dawson Park Apartments.
  • Empower residents through activities, referrals, and community-building opportunities.
  • Collaborate with building management to address individual resident concerns and provide educational programming.
  • Distribute the monthly ERS newsletter for Dawson Park residents.
  • Oversee the food pantry and office hours on the 4th Monday of each month.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in community engagement, social services, or housing-related fields preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse populations.
  • Ability to coordinate events and programs, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of community resources and the ability to make appropriate referrals.
  • Conflict resolution skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.

Physical Requirements:
