As a Fellow at CDCPS you will:
- Gain the experience you need to be hired as a permanent classroom teacher – many of our Fellows have been rehired as full classroom teachers after their year of experience and training with us
- Learn from outstanding educational practitioners and be part of a collaborative community of seasoned educators
- Participate in high-quality professional development alongside practitioners from our nationally acclaimed charter network;
- Support, promote, lead, and participate in community service activities at your school site and within the larger community;
- Have opportunities to receive an additional stipend by leading student centered after school activities; and
- Be considered for a permanent teaching placement within The Community Group’s Charter School network.
In The Community Group Co-Teaching Fellows program you will:
- Be involved in planning, delivering daily classroom lessons, and providing small group instruction based on students assessed learning needs;
- Share classroom management responsibilities and be involved directly in parent conferencing;
- Gain classroom experience under the guidance of and in collaboration with highly experienced and qualified lead teachers and administrators;
.In The Community Group Generalist Teaching Fellows program you will:
- Provide small groups instruction in the classroom during ELA and Math;
- Have the opportunity to work with a wide range of very talented and experienced teachers; and
- Push in if a teacher is absent.
Qualifications Co-Teaching Fellows Opportunity:
- Completed Bachelor's degree or Associate's Degree
- Genuine desire to learn and can exhibit a growth mind set to work collaboratively as a team
- Authorization to work in the US ( Applicants must be a US Citizen or Permanent US Resident.)
- Finished student teacher experience or who is looking to be certified
Qualifications Generalist Teaching Fellows Opportunity:
- Completed Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree
- Genuine desire to learn and can exhibit a growth mind set to work collaboratively as a team
- Authorization to work in the US ( Applicants must be a US Citizen or Permanent US Resident.)
Schedule: Fellows must be present from 7:45 am – 4:00 pm. Fellows may also be required to engage in activities outside of the typical work day (such as after the end of the school day to attend meetings or phone calls with families, or school-related events). Other responsibilities which may fall outside of school hours include lesson preparation, student evaluation, and school based community service activities.
Responsibilities for Co-Teaching Fellows include but are not limited to:
- Participating in Co-Teaching activities in the classroom, team teaching, working with small groups, who need remediation or advanced instruction, parallel teaching with the lead teacher or teaching whole group lessons when appropriate;
- Conduct lesson preparation and student assessments;
- Communicate with families through meetings, phone calls, and family engagement activities; and
- Participate in all required training, professional development, and member support activities.
Responsibilities for Generalist Teaching Fellows include but are not limited to:
- Provide on-going academic support for small groups of children under teacher guidance;
- If one of the Co-teachers is absent you may be asked to support in that classroom or help monitor technology classes;
- Help with the administration of standardized testing; and
- Participate in all required training, professional development, and member support activities.
Job Type: Full-time
