We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Early Childhood Specialist to support childcare providers in the South Central region. The ideal candidate will have expertise in child development, early education best practices, and skilled in adult learning strategies. This position is responsible for delivering evidence-based training to childcare providers and conducting on-site coaching visits. This role involves working directly with childcare providers to ensure young children (ages 0–5) have access to high-quality learning experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver best practice training to childcare providers in alignment with state standards and quality frameworks.
- Conduct on-site coaching visits to support providers in implementing high-quality practices.
- Select and disseminate resources to improve the quality of childcare.
- Track progress, maintain accurate documentation, and contribute to required reporting for quality initiatives.
- Collaborate with regional teams and partner agencies to align supports and services for childcare providers.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of computer technology (MS Office, Zoom)
- Data entry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Work collaboratively and independently to deliver services
Use of a personal vehicle is required.
Travel mileage will be reimbursed at agency rate.
40 hours per week, flexible hours. This position will travel between worksites throughout the region. Occasional evening and weekend work may also be required.
Final candidates must pass child abuse/neglect and criminal background screenings.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field OR CDA
- Proven experience in childcare setting
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in early childhood education
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and evidence-based teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and families.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry skills
