The Community Supports Network, Inc. (CSN) is a strengths-based, multi-state organization whose mission is to support people with intellectual disabilities and/or mental health needs to learn skills and develop talents to reach their goals. Reporting to the Area Director, the Vocational Coordinator provides leadership and oversight of Labor Solutions-Omaha’s vocational habilitation, alternative vocational activities, and customized employment programs.
Day-to-day oversight and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Create an innovative atmosphere that encourages employees to think outside the box regarding opportunity and supports.
- Oversee and direct employment supports for persons employed, including developing and managing vocational goals.
- Maintain a direct care presence with clients, providing 7 hours minimum of direct support each week.
- Adhere to the area vocational program budget and CSN operating budget overall.
- Maintain an awareness of available resources and direct the activities of key staff in acquiring and effectively deploying those funds.
- Organize quality services while maintaining required certifications, licenses, and permits.
- Ensure compliance with the requirements of the services contract with the Nebraska Health and Human Services system.
- Collaborate with clients to develop personalized vocational training plans, monitor progress, and make necessary adjustments.
- Lead a team of Direct Support Professionals, providing guidance and support to foster a strengths-based environment.
- Conduct regular team meetings, coaching, and performance evaluations to ensure high-quality care and professional growth.

This specific Vocational Coordinator position will oversee our Vocational programs in Omaha. Time will be split between Direct Support hours and Administrative (Office) hours.

Minimum Requirements: One of the following requirements must be met: a) Bachelor’s degree in social services, psychology, education, or a related field b) High school diploma/GED with two years of progressively responsible experience in the field of human services including supervising the work of others. Exceptions may be made based on combination of education and experience. All applicants must possess at minimum a high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation. Must be willing to learn and physically capable of implementing crisis intervention techniques. The employee must have full range of motion, physical strength and ability to achieve and maintain required training and certification to include but not limited to: CSN agency training, Medication Aide Certification, Standard First Aid & CPR Certification; physical intervention techniques certification, and other trainings or certifications as required. The employee must possess good verbal and written communication skills including spelling and grammar. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a human service or a related field and four years supervisory experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities and/or mental health needs.
Must have flexibility to be available for on-call including weekend/holiday rotation
