Position Overview
Do you want to use your strategic sales skills to have a major measurable impact on environmental health and well-being? As a Commercial Outside Sales Representative, you’ll sell our market-leader composting services to commercial locations such as restaurants, hotels, schools, multi-family dwellings, and other local businesses in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia (DMV). You’ll enable DMV prospects to understand how our top-rated services (as high as 98% positive ratings!) can be an integral part of their zero waste plans. This is a hybrid position, with 80% time in the field/territory performing customer meetings, site visits and general canvassing of potential prospects and 20% time in your home office working on proposals and moving prospects through the pipeline. Position annualized salary range $50K - $75K. Generous variable compensation opportunity of up to 40-60% of base salary.
Key Requirements

Minimum 3 years sales experience, preferably in the waste management industry or a circular economy business

Strong track record of achievement against a sales quota.

Ability to deliver articulate oral and written presentations about the value proposition that Compost Crew offers

Business communication skills using diverse methods

Highly proficient with CRM applications, spreadsheets and other tools

Resident of the DMV, preferably within 25 miles of Rockville, MD

Associate’s degree or equivalent

Responsibilities

Strategic selling: Lead the sales of composting services to commercial businesses in the greater Washington, DC area. Achieve sales goals.

Pipeline management: Monitor market developments and conduct prospecting activities to build new pipeline, and consistently use CRM system to track sales activities

Relationship management: Attend and represent the company in business meetings, both virtual and in-person, with potential clients throughout the DMV

Proposal management: Work a potential client to a proposal stage, ensuring that high-quality responses are delivered in a timely manner.

Teamwork: Collaborate with marketing to develop campaigns that support these efforts; work with account management to make sure services meet customer expectations
