Full job description
The computer technician identifies and offers technology related, solution-based recommendations to solve customer needs and ensure that no customer is left unserved. They create and maintain a supportive environment for customers by asking the right questions, listening carefully, taking detailed notes and partnering with other team members. Technicians diagnose technology issues through various troubleshooting activities including the use of specialty software and hardware. They are passionate about technology and leverage their technical abilities to create positive customer interactions by solving a variety of software and hardware issues.
At The Computer Center, we are the premier tech store in Wharton County and are obsessed with building long term relationships with our customers. Our technician should feel empowered to deliver quality service and offer customers the personal touch big box stores lack.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides diagnostics and repair services for computer hardware and software on Windows and Mac operating systems in-house and remotely.
- Provide technical support to customers in person and over the phone regarding PCs, devices, and peripherals.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and answer any technical questions a customer may have.
- Make recommendations for selling new and refurbished computers according to customer’s needs.
- Understands the importance of the customer experience when performing diagnostic discoveries, making recommendations for repair, and protecting customer devices both in-person and by phone.
- Establishes and maintains consistent rhythms for timely follow-up and ensures quality of repairs.
- Check out customers, tender cash and card transactions, and answer phone calls.
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 6 months experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing computers
- Experience actively using and learning about consumer electronics
- Strong ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong ability for creative problem solving.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 year technology degree i.e. computer science or electrical engineering
- 1 years experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing computers
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $18.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
