Position Title: IT Systems Architect

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Systems Architect to join our university’s IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, implementing, and managing complex IT systems. This role requires expertise in MS Azure, Active Directory, Salesforce, Meraki APs and switches, Dell servers, SANs, and Manage wise. The IT Systems Architect will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement IT systems architecture to support the university’s strategic goals.
- Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure using MS Azure.
- Administer and maintain Active Directory services.
- Integrate and manage Salesforce applications.
- Configure and manage Meraki APs and switches.
- Oversee the deployment and maintenance of Dell servers and SANs.
- Utilize Manage wise for network and systems management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of IT systems.
- Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Conduct regular system audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
- Provide technical guidance and support to IT staff and end-users.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure the university’s IT infrastructure remains cutting-edge.
- Design and configure Cisco switches and firewalls in a multi-VLAN environment and follow ITIL standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT systems architecture or a similar role.
- Proficiency in MS Azure, Active Directory, Salesforce, Meraki APs and switches, Dell servers, SANs, Manage wise, and VMware technologies (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi).
- Strong understanding of network protocols, security, and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in Azure virtual infrastructure, VMware virtual environments, and with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Ability to deploy, manage, and troubleshoot VMware virtual machines and environments.
- Familiarity with VMware NSX for network virtualization and security.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to Maine.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Cisco Certified Network Professional, Salesforce Certified Technical Architect).
- Experience in an academic or research environment.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
