Job Description : Our client, a large defense contractor, has an immediate opening for a Machinist Technician to work from their Scottsdale, AZ facility.
Qualifications : High school plus 1year experience is required.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS : Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Duties and Tasks :
- Basic material knowledge
- May operate light-duty bench or floor machine tools and equipment
- Works from basic drawings, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which
may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions
Sets up machines and makes adjustments, and performs maintenance on machinesChecks work using prescribed gauges, jigs and fixtures to measure close tolerancesMonitors and verifies quality in accordance with statistical process or other controlprocedures
Interfaces with employees and managers within the departmentWorks under supervision and instructions given for routine work, and detailed instructionsgiven for new activities or special assignments

While an hourly range is posted for this position, an eventual hourly rate is determined by a comprehensive salary analysis which considers multiple factors including but not limited to : job-related knowledge, skills and qualifications, education and experience as compared to others in the organization doing substantially similar work, if applicable, and market and business considerations.
