JOB DESCRIPTION
Mechanical Engineer -
Works closely with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate the design, analysis, and manufacture of rotating industrial machinery and ASME code-stamped pressure vessels for a wide range of customers at the forefront of today's process technologies. This position will help lead the growth and development of product lines through engineering analysis, modelling, simulation, and technical document review and preparation. The ME will support on-site manufacturing, chemical engineering, quality, and operations in a dynamic work environment.
We're looking for a team member with strong engineering fundamentals and a proven ability to recognize and solve technical problems through detailed analysis. Experience with ASME BPVC Section VIII Division 1 is highly desirable but a qualified candidate who is curious, eager to learn, and has a desire to grow within the organization will also be valued.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for design and calculations of ASME code stamped pressure vessels under the supervision of senior engineering staff.Responsible for the design, calculations, and analyses of industrial rotating equipment under the supervision of senior engineering staff.Selection of mechanical components including seals, bearings, motors, pumps, etc.Responsible for project documentation including but not limited to :Code calculations and design reports
Fabrication and machining drawingsCustomer drawingsEquipment and piping layoutsGeneral arrangement and assembly drawingsInstallation, operation, and maintenance manualsDevelop conceptual designs for prototypes.Design of fixtures and tooling for large-scale manufacturing operations.Coordinate with cross functional stakeholders as required.Review or develop technical specifications for projects and equipment components.Perform finite element analyses (FEA) when necessary (structural, thermal analyses) and document findings through presentations or reports for audiences with varying technical backgrounds.Assumes additional related responsibilities as assigned.REQUIREMENTS
Education :
BSME degree with 3 years of experience, or MSME with 1 years of experience.Must have demonstrated experience in one or more of the following technical areas :Industrial machine design
Design of dynamic or rotating equipmentFamiliarity with ASME Section VIII Division 1 Boiler and Pressure Vessel CodeExposure to pressure and / or thermal stress analysisGeneral :

Proficiency reading, interpreting, and generating engineering drawings; familiarity with GD&T principles and drafting standards.Proficiency with the following software : SolidWorks, Draft Sight / AutoCAD, Excel, Word PowerPoint.General familiarity with manufacturing processes such as metal fabrication, machining, welding, and assembly and be capable of interfacing with manufacturing personnel.Must be able to demonstrate strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and their applications.Experience working with SolidWorks PDM (Enterprise / Professional desired) in a multi-user environment or similar PLM / PDM system.Demonstrated ability to optimize component or assembly designs for manufacturing, part count reduction, material savings, and manufacturability.Must be familiar with engineering processes, i.e. change procedures, quality control, and approval processes, document control, and file management of CAD data.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate with intent to pursue Professional Engineering (PE) LicenseProficient in pressure vessel design, welding, material selection and fabrication practices per ASME Section VIII Div. 1 Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.Exposure to ASME Section VIII Div. 2 Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, particularly Part 5.Experience with Codeware COMPRESS or other pressure vessel design software.Proficient in both top-down and bottom-up design techniques using SolidWorks.Exposure to finite element analysis (FEA) or computational fluid dynamics (CFD) with a basic understanding of the underlying physical equations and numerical solution methods.Experience working with one or more highly regulated industries.Proficiency with engineering and manufacturing related modules of ERP systems including Part, Bill of Material, and Method of Manufacture creation and maintenance.Equal Opportunity Employer Veterans / Disabled
While an hourly range is posted for this position, an eventual hourly rate is determined by a comprehensive salary analysis which considers multiple factors including but not limited to : job-related knowledge, skills and qualifications, education and experience as compared to others in the organization doing substantially similar work, if applicable, and market and business considerations. Salary : $100,000 - $110,000
