Job Description : Our client, a large defense contractor, has an immediate opening for a Network Design Engineer to work from their Scottsdale, AZ facility. The experienced Network Design Engineer we seek will design and plan network systems, as well as provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. You'll deliver specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Using your extensive network knowledge, you'll coordinate third party maintenance for network equipment and troubleshoot problems with department users and department network administrators. We'll rely on you to maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, hubs, bridges and gateways, etc.
Qualifications : Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related Science or Mathematics field. Also requires 5 years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS : Department of Defense SECRET security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a SECRET clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
What you bring to the table :
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

- Develop and provide innovative and creative solutions to a variety of difficult problems of considerable scope and complexity, using established precedent and policies
