Probate and Estate Planning Paralegal
The Connection House is currently seeking a full-time, efficient, detail-oriented, probate and estate planning paralegal for our client. This is a growing law firm in the Marietta, GA area. The Client is looking for a candidate that will hit the ground running on day one, take that initiative and maintain composure while working in a fast-paced environment. The client’s law firm wants to be known for educating and empowering clients to make informed choices and helping our clients navigate the estate planning process and court system with as little stress as possible by supporting the whole person and efficiently and ethically representing them.
This position is NOT remote. Candidate must live no more than 30 minutes outside the Marietta, GA area for application to be considered. The candidate may work remotely one day a week AFTER a successful 90 days at the firm.
Qualifications
· At least 2 years of Georgia paralegal experience, with preference for probate and/or estate planning experience. The firm’s practice is about 70% probate and 30% estate planning.
· Ability to handle emotional clients in their time of need by carefully listening, diplomatically addressing concerns, and being a trusted advisor

Responsibilities and Duties
· Prepare, proof and edit all estate planning documents, Probate Court pleadings, and discovery, based on from information provided by the client.
· Communicate (letter, email, phone, and in person) regularly with clients regarding the status of their matter, additional information needed, and next steps.
· Occasionally communicate with agencies and institutions to research information on behalf of the clients.
· Understand and assist in the process of transferring the title of every kind of asset, including preparing PT-61 forms, deeds, and other transfer documents and forms.
· Organize case files to ensure all documents are properly stored so they are easily located
· Utilize the firm’s document assembly software to produce accurate, high quality, customized, and professional looking legal documents.
· Communicate with other professionals such as financial advisers, attorneys, CPA’s and the court.
· Offer additional services of the firm to clients.
· Calander deadlines correctly and take steps necessary to meet the deadline.
· Occasionally communicate with agencies and institutions to research information on behalf of the clients.
· Review inventories and asset lists submitted by the client for accuracy and completeness.
· Clarify any abbreviations, numbers, etc. May need to contact client or Financial Advisors by phone or in writing for clarification.
· Make appropriate database, time billing, and status report entries on a daily basis.
· Review estate plan with clients during the phone final, including following up on missing information and confirming final appointment and balance of fees.
· May assemble portfolio binders, including printing and copying and any other task required to make delivery to the client.
· Review estate plan documents with clients at final signing meeting, collect final fees and conduct signing ceremony, which includes arranging for witnesses and notarizing the documents.
· Provide ongoing client support, which includes receiving all client telephone calls, emails, and letters. Responsible for answering all routine client questions, which includes researching and taking action or delegating to others. Refer complex legal questions to attorney.
· Print progress reports and discuss them regularly with supervisor.
· Participate in weekly staff meetings, which includes providing input to law firm operations and procedures.
· Assist in answering phones, obtaining basic information from potential clients, and scheduling appointments.
· Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
