What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr Systems Engineer position at The Connors Group?
The Sr. Systems Engineer will work with our team to provide support for a wide range of IT systems and services including the corporate virtualization environment. As the Sr. Systems Engineer you will be responsible for implementing and managing on-prem infrastructure. You will work in a fast-paced environment and apply your technical knowledge to solve issues that will span multiple IT environments.
What You will Do:
- Manage Active Directory environments, including user and group management, Group Policy Objects, and AD site replication.
- Utilize Ansible and Terraform to automate infrastructure deployment and configuration management.
- Administer and optimize VMware environments, including virtual machine provisioning, performance tuning, and resource allocation.
- Manage Teams’ Systems Queue within ServiceNow. Troubleshoot and delegate tickets on an daily basis.
- Maintain Okta with knowledge of Workflows, RBAC roles and implementation and support of OAuth, SAML, and OpenID Connect.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement scalable and secure IT infrastructure solutions.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in systems engineering or a similar role.
- Experience with orchestration tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
- Knowledge of DevOps, including CI/CD Pipelines and containerization.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Knowledge with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Strong expertise in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file clustering.
- Proficiency in VMware administration and management.
- Solid understanding of network protocols, security principles, and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
