JOB HIGHLIGHTS

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Associate to join our team and play a critical role in advancing our enterprise-level impact investment products and strategies. The Senior Associate will support product marketing, relationship building with potential and existing strategic investors/partners, and innovative capital-raising initiatives, including debt financing, joint ventures, equity investments, and special purpose vehicles that scale The Conservation Fund’s mission. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating financial models, developing external-facing marketing content, and conducting comprehensive research and data analytics. This position will report to the Senior Vice President of the Capital Investments Group and work closely with other team members in a supporting role depending on workflows. The position is based at The Conservation Fund’s Arlington office and follows a hybrid schedule, requiring multiple days of in-person work per week.

Project Support:

• Work collaboratively within the Capital Investment Group and across functional teams within the organization to execute deliverables that support capital-raising initiatives.
  
  

Financial Modeling:

• Develop and maintain detailed financial models to support decision-making, fundraising, and investment product development.
• Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to assess project viability and risk.
  
  

Research and Data Analytics:

• Perform in-depth research on market trends, industry developments, and the competitive landscape.
• Analyze data to derive actionable insights and support strategic initiatives.
• Develop and utilize advanced analytics tools to enhance research quality and efficiency.
  
  

Pitch Decks:

• Create compelling and professional pitch decks for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information and insights.
• Participate in presentations and pitches to internal and external audiences.
  
  

Marketing and Communications:

• Develop reports, whitepapers, and other documents to effectively communicate findings and recommendations.
• Help organize convening events to promote the company’s positioning as a thought leader.
  
  

Sectoral Exposure:

• Apply knowledge and experience in the impact investment space, with a focus on impact, ESG, natural capital, climate, and conservation.
• Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in these sectors.
  
  

Data Management:

• Manage the Capital Investment team’s CRM module to accurately capture data and ensure appropriate teams are tracking outreach efforts efficiently.
• Contribute to the development of underlying systems to improve operating efficiencies, data integration and reporting processes.
  
  

What We Need You To Have

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related science field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in finance, corporate sustainability, investment banking, asset management, or strategy consulting
• Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to create sophisticated financial models and presentations.
• Experience with investment workflows, real estate transaction processes, and portfolio construction.
• Experience in the impact investment space, with exposure to ESG, natural capital, and conservation sectors, is strongly preferred.
• Financial modeling experience, including cash flow analyses to determine project feasibility and utilization of blended finance mechanisms.
• Exposure and knowledge of ecosystem services and conservation finance mechanisms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Organized, detail-oriented, possessing a builder’s mentality and strong work ethic.
• Demonstrated collaboration skills in a dynamic organizational environment.
• Initiative-taker with demonstrated ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Comfort with complexity and ambiguity.
• A proven track record of proactive, creative, and collaborative project management skills.

What We’d Like You To Have

• Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) and/or CFA certification are a plus.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools and Salesforce software is a plus.
• Experience in or significant knowledge of capital markets or private equity or conservation finance a plus.
  
  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Estimated travel – 10%
  
  

Compensation And Benefits

The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000 and the position is eligible for opportunities to earn performance-based bonus compensation. Please note: Salary range provided is an estimate and will be evaluated on an individual basis, taking into consideration the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and education. The final salary offer will be determined accordingly.
