Description
Summary: Provides transportation services to consumers of the Agency, also assists with mail operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Transports individuals to and from Agency programs providing door-to-door service; escorts individuals needing assistance to and from residence and program doors as necessary.
- Assures individual safety during transport by ensuring that seat belts are worn by all riders.
- Complies with all procedures outlined in the Driver’s Registration/Vehicle Usage policy # RL001 on a daily basis.
- Picks up/delivers program supplies, documents, etc., as directed by supervisory staff on a daily basis.
- Documents and promptly reports to Unit Director and Supervisor any incidents that occur during transport as needed.
- Maintains accurate pick-up and delivery records. Reports no-shows to immediate supervisor daily.
- Makes transportation changes as needed
- Maintains client safety while in agency vehicle; observes all laws related to the operation of a motor vehicle.
- Secures passengers’ wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip, as needed.

- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.
- Must be able to travel 90% of the time. Familiarity with local streets required.
- Some experience working in MH field preferred
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software.
