Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Patrols, periodically, buildings and grounds of assigned facility.
- Examines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure.
- Warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and expels or reports persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
- Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked.
- Observes departing people to guard against theft of company property.
- Sounds alarm or calls police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
- Permits authorized persons to enter property.
- Records times of inspection trips.
- Records data such as property damage or unusual occurrences for use by supervisory staff.
- Regulates vehicle and pedestrian traffic at facility entrance to maintain orderly flow.
- Assists clinical staff in de-escalating crisis situations by using appropriate prevention and/or intervention techniques and alerting appropriate staff.
Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the agency.
Computer Skills
Basic computer skills required to navigate Internet based training and evaluation programs.
