The RECOVER Project, a program of The Western MA Training Consortium has a 40-hour
Community Outreach Coordinator position available in Greenfield. This position is crucial to our mission, focusing on building connections with community organizations and engaging with both our internal and external peer communities in a positive, proactive manner. The aim is to cultivate and sustain collaborative relationships that enhance a sense of belonging, promote recovery education and advocacy, and offer opportunities for professional and personal growth for our organization and peer community members
The RECOVER Project is committed to recruiting, training, and supporting staff. We will gladly provide training and mentoring as needed for candidates with lived experience who meet the qualifications and demonstrate a commitment and passion for the RECOVER Project mission and values.
In the role of Community Outreach Coordinator this person will enhance membership opportunities, recovery support and knowledge of the RECOVER Project through outreach, tabling, and information sessions, and within the center, using our peer participatory model.
The successful candidate will:
· Uphold the value of multiple pathways of recovery,
· Support peer-to-peer connections.
· Be familiar with local resource information.
· Have personal lived experience in substance use recovery.
· Be able to work a flexible schedule including availability for some evening, weekend, and holiday hours.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Close familiarity with the local recovery community
· Knowledge of Franklin County Community
· Extensive experience in outreach and community building
· Proficiency in Microsoft 365 is a MUST.
· Lived experience in substance use recovery with demonstrated sustained recovery supports
· Strong Program planning and coordination skills
· Knowledge of group dynamics and solid group facilitation skills
· Understanding of creating conditions for trauma informed engagement
· Strong understanding of and experience with peer-participatory model
· Proficient with Microsoft 365 and social media platforms
· Experience in strength-based approach to leadership development
· Experience in presentations
· Ability to address multiple tasks smoothly with ability to prioritize demands of attention and time
· Solid problem-solving skills, including knowing when to seek assistance
· Strong communication skills, especially with mutually respectful and compassionate relationships
Traveling in Massachusetts is required. Reliable transportation, a valid Massachusetts driver’s license and a clean driving record is required.
