Manager of Pricing & Analytics

Overview

The Manager of Pricing and Analytics position is responsible for developing, implementing and managing strategic pricing, promotional and clearance programs to deliver profitable growth. This position leads the development and implementation of internal pricing strategies, including analytics and optimization by partnering with operational business teams including Merchandising, Marketing, Stores, Supply Chain and Technology.

Responsibilities

• Drives the development of pricing, promotional and clearance programs to maximize profitability across all channels
• Collaborates cross-functionally to support execution of pricing processes, including managing price record files, executing price changes and promotions, ensuring pricing integrity and compliance.
• Defines, develops and implements overall pricing guardrails and methodologies
• Drives pricing analytics, testing and tracking; determines implications for the business and communicates findings across the organization
• Ensures price competitiveness through benchmarking, testing/pilots and other diagnostics, particularly in key value perception categories
• Creates ad hoc reporting to enable analysis, recaps, and refinement of pricing and promotional decisions.
• Defines, maintains and updates pricing roles (e.g. traffic-driving, destination, core, impulse) and pricing ladders
• Develops meaningful analytics that foster strategic thinking regarding the most significant sales and margin growth opportunities
• Builds and updates perspective on key pricing trends and opportunities
• Leads Pricing Analyst and supports Buyers in key pricing tactic decisions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree with analytic or quantitative focus is preferred
• A minimum of three years of experience in pricing and complex analytics required; additional experience in Merchandising or Marketing functions also preferred
• Strong analytical skills including demonstrated aptitude with financial analysis and ability to generate insight from large and complex data sets.
• Strategic thinker as well as tactical executor
• Proficient in SQL, Tableau, Microstrategy, and Power BI knowledge a plus.
• Retail experience strongly preferred
• Based in Dallas/Ft. Worth area
• Ability to travel 10% a year, based on the business needs
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
• Strong computer skills: proficiency in advanced Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
• Is influential throughout the organization and is considered a trusted ally
• Able to see and reinforce link between business strategy and pricing strategy
• Demonstrates strong quantitative skills and analytical approach to problem solving
• Understanding of pricing processes and best practices
• Ensures collaboration across business functions
• Able to ensure pricing compliance
• Experience managing others including career development, directing and evaluating work
