Responsibilities
What Will You Be Doing?
The Senior Facilities Technician’s role is to maintain and repair sortation systems, packaging equipment, material handling and overall building equipment that includes but not limited to electrical work, plumbing, HVAC, batteries and dock door components throughout the Distribution Center (DC). This position requires advanced troubleshooting and repair skills along with the ability to train, mentor and lead the Technician team in support of mission-critical responsibilities to keep the distribution center running efficiently. This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position.

Qualifications
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Performs all primary / expert level preventative maintenance and repairs on conveyor systems while supporting material handling and building equipmentLeads daily activities of the Technician team by ensuring effective maintenance of all equipment and building, and manages all professional interactionsEnsures operational functionality of mechanical systems including but not limited to air compressors, air dryers, conveyors and HVAC equipmentManages and maintains a material handling Rolling Equipment fleet (i.e. Raymond, Crown and / or Toyota) working with vendor-partners in a mutually beneficial relationship.Operates computer-controlled building, conveyor, battery and forklift truck fleet management programs.Leads identification, sourcing and management of spare parts inventory via MMS systemOperates scrubber / sweeper, material handling and battery changing equipment when neededUtilizes knowledge of codes such as the National Electric Code (NEC) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)Drives company vehicle for business purposes as requiredMaintains a clean and safe working environment, utilizing all available resources, ensuring safety and security of the employees, customers and propertyAbility to work in a non-climate-controlled environmentConsistently arrives promptly to work the assigned scheduleResponsible for maintaining discretion related to all confidential / sensitive company and customer informationPerforms other requested tasks and dutiesWhat You Bring To Us
High school diploma or equivalent(trade school, technical college or manufacturer training a plus)Minimum experienceof 3 yearsworking on packaging sortation systemsOperating knowledge ofWarehouse Execution, Warehouse Management (WMS), Bar code-reading scanners and cameras and Conveyor system software management systems.Maintenance experience with material handling equipment and building systems equipmentStrong, proven ability to troubleshoot the Dematic, TGW or similar conveyor systems, Sharp Packaging, Lantech, Cognex, SICK and Mettler Toledo material handling equipment without the aid of othersExperience configuring and maintaining workflow in a Maintenance Management System (MMS)Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe mannerMust be able to operate industrial power equipmentExperience using electrical test equipment, hand tools, power tools, calipers, gauges, etc. Ability to troubleshoot mid-level electrical issuesAbility to read MEP (Mechanical / Electrical / Plumbing) drawings and schematicsUnderstanding and knowledge of SDS (Safety Data Sheets) informationStrong computer skills : proficiency in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher and knowledge of Excel (AutoCAD, PlanGrid a plus)Is committed to working scheduled hours and has the flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needsKnowledge of industry business and passion for following trends in the industryAbility to communicate clearly and effectively in a professional manner, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organizationAbility to quickly separate the mission-critical tasks from the lower priority tasks; focuses on the most value-added projects of the day or weekFlexible, with a positive attitude and passion for knowledgeStrong time management and organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at oncePossesses focused attention to detail while working quickly and accurately under pressureMakes strategic and effective decisions in the best interest of our customers and our company, taking care to objectively process informationAbility to work within and exemplify The Container Store brand which we describe as matchless, fun, authentic, team-focused and life-changing
