Typical Duties Will Include
- Crew Leadership & Management
- Supervise, coordinate, and train a team of carpenters and laborers.
- Plan, schedule, and delegate daily tasks to ensure project timelines are met.
- Monitor work progress, ensuring quality craftsmanship and adherence to specifications.
- Provide mentorship and hands-on training to improve team skill levels.
- Project Execution
- Interpret and execute construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.
- Construct, erect, and install structures and fixtures made of wood, including concrete forms, partitions, joists, and rafters.
- Install window and door frames, siding, drywall, and batt insulation.
- Measure, cut, and install metal studs, ceilings, flooring, and other materials.
- Ensure all work complies with building codes and company standards.
- Safety Compliance
- Enforce and follow all company and OSHA safety procedures and processes.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and job site inspections.
- Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain site cleanliness and organization.
- Coordination & Communication
- Act as the primary liaison between the crew, Project Superintendent, and other trades.
- Communicate job site needs, progress updates, and any issues that arise.
- Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Administrative Duties
- Track labor hours, materials used, and report daily progress to the Project Superintendent.
- Assist in ordering materials and ensuring proper inventory levels.
- Maintain project documentation and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Minimum 5 years carpentry experience including leadership or supervisory experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and project plans.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in operating hand and power tools safely.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to multiple job sites.
- Experience in scheduling, crew management, and safety enforcement preferred.
