Key Responsibilities

  • Work under an experienced foreman to learn project management, crew leadership, and marine construction best practices.
  • Assist in overseeing daily job site operations, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and safely.
  • Coordinate with team members to complete tasks such as dock building, pile driving, seawall installation, and other marine construction work.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, project specifications, and customer expectations.
  • Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and machinery required for marine construction.
  • Assist in training and mentoring crew members, promoting teamwork and high-quality workmanship.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and subcontractors to keep projects on schedule.
  • Troubleshoot job site issues and develop problem-solving skills to handle unexpected challenges.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role or related industry (marine construction, carpentry, dock building, or waterfront projects preferred).
  • Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and leadership potential.
  • Basic knowledge of construction tools, equipment, and techniques.
  • Ability to read blueprints, follow technical instructions, and ensure compliance with project plans.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and on the water.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safety and quality in all aspects of work.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred But Not Required

  • Experience operating heavy equipment (excavators, pile drivers, barges, etc.).
  • OSHA, fall protection, and lift certifications (On Pointe Contracting offers training and certification opportunities).

Work Schedule & Location

  • Full-time position with flexible scheduling
  • Work locations include waterfront job sites across residential, commercial, and government projects
  • Some travel may be required, with per diem provided for travel projects
