Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversees all SD jobs, including labor, materials, equipment, scheduling, and submittals.
- Advises management regarding staffing needs for projects.
- Advises management on hiring decisions for Superintendents, Foremen, and their staff.
- Assesses the performance of Superintendents, Foremen, and their staff and advises management regarding termination decisions.
- Must be organized and efficient to stay ahead of crews by four weeks on RFIs, procurement of materials, and scheduling. Coordinates with General Contractors and other Subcontractors.
- Reviews all project documents, including project submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings, for completeness and accuracy.
- Follows instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions; meets commitments; follows policies and procedures.
- Manages a variety of commercial/industrial concrete projects from beginning to end.
- Uses project management and scheduling software consistently and accurately.
- Responsible for Pre-Construction duties, including attending pre-construction meetings and assisting with initial project set-up, including site logistics.
- Collaborates with Estimator in helping to create and coordinate change orders.
- Reads, understands, and interprets contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.
- Plans and coordinates with the Superintendent the materials needed for scope of work, ensuring compliance with approved submittals and contract documents.
- Provides strong attention to detail while producing accurate and high-quality work within budget and schedule.
- Responsible for managing project financials, billings, and cost procedures.
- Ensures company policies, procedures, and standards are enforced.
- Creates and enforces a site-specific emergency action plan for assigned projects in collaboration with the Superintendent.
- Implements and enforces all established safety policies and procedures.
- Promotes safe and productive practices to ensure the highest quality product is delivered to customers.
- Oversees and implements stringent quality control plans and procedures.
- Manages client relations from preconstruction to closeout, ensuring professionalism and trust-building with clients.
- Establishes and maintains positive and effective relationships with all personnel, including owners, clients, Construction Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, project team, consultants/architects/engineers, subcontractors, adjacent community, and governmental agencies.
- Maintains all paperwork needed for the job site.
- Conducts team meetings, owner/architect meetings, and safety audits, presenting job cost, scheduling updates, and project status reports at regular intervals.
- Manages project closeout.
- Must be willing and able to travel to various job sites as needed.
- Responsible for the proper use of company credit card and for submitting credit card receipts to the finance department by the last day of the month.
- Other related duties as assigned or needed.
- All work must meet or exceed the company's quality standards.
- Must be able to pass a drug screening.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and qualify to drive under company vehicle policy.
- Must be willing and able to work in adverse weather conditions, while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Must be dependable and complete tasks/projects on time.
