Key Responsibilities
- Project Management Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee electrical construction projects from planning to completion.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely execution.
- Manage budgets, resources, and materials to ensure cost efficiency.
- Coordinate labor requirements, ensuring proper manpower staffing.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations, building codes, and legal requirements.
- Communicate effectively with clients, foremen, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor and report project progress to leadership.
- Resolve on-site issues related to safety, weather, or emergencies.
- Negotiate and manage change orders, ensuring scope and costs remain in control.
- Lead project closeout procedures and conduct post-project reviews.
- Estimating Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints and technical drawings to determine material and labor costs.
- Estimate project costs accurately, including wiring, labor, materials, and fixtures.
- Utilize estimating software to develop competitive bids.
- Manage cost databases to account for market fluctuations.
- Communicate with clients to determine project scope and feasibility.
- Generate project proposals and contracts with detailed scope of work.
- Follow up on submitted bids to secure new business.
- Build and maintain relationships with contractors, suppliers, and customers.
- 7 to 10 years of electrical construction experience, with at least 4 years in project management.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes and design.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading, estimating software, and project scheduling tools.
- Knowledge of construction industry regulations, contracts, and cost control.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, electrical engineering, or related field (preferred but not required).
- Certified Estimator credentials (ASPE or AACE) a plus.
