Job Summary
As an Electrical Contractor Estimator at Newsome Electrical Construction LLC, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with electrical projects, from small-scale installations to large commercial or industrial developments. Your expertise in analyzing project specifications, conducting material takeoffs, and evaluating labor requirements will be instrumental in preparing competitive bids and proposals. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure that estimates align with project goals, timelines, and budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Analysis
Review project documents, including blueprints, specifications, and scope of work, to understand project requirements and constraints.
Quantify and estimate the quantities of materials required for electrical installations, such as wiring, conduits, fixtures, and electrical components.
Assess the labor requirements for electrical projects based on project scope, complexity, and timeline.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical projects, including material costs, labor costs, equipment rentals, subcontractor costs, and overhead expenses.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to develop bid proposals that meet client requirements and specifications.
Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost-saving measures without compromising project quality or functionality.
Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client consultations to clarify project requirements, address concerns, and build rapport with potential clients.
Negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure favorable agreements that align with project requirements and company objectives.
Identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with electrical projects, such as regulatory compliance, schedule delays, material shortages, and cost overruns.
Maintain accurate records of estimating activities, including cost estimates, bid documents, correspondence, and project files.
