Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate estimates.
• Calculate material, labor, and equipment costs for commercial, industrial, and government/federal projects.
• Prepare detailed cost proposals and present them to clients and project managers.
• Identify project risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving strategies.
• Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
• Keep up with industry trends and new painting/coating technologies to enhance estimating accuracy.
• Use estimating software and other digital tools for project documentation and cost tracking.
  
  

Qualifications

• Preferred 3 years of experience as an Estimator in commercial painting, wallcovering, or industrial coatings.
• Strong knowledge of painting and wallcovering materials, techniques, and estimating processes.
• Experience working with union projects and federal/government contracts is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, Planswift, or similar.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Must be highly organized and able to manage multiple bids simultaneously.

Work Schedule

• Full-time, Monday through Friday 8-5 with a one hour lunch
• Occasional site visits as needed
