Responsibilities include but are not limited to : -Equipment Operation : Safely and efficiently operate excavators and other heavy equipment for commercial excavation tasks, including trenching, grading, digging, and loading.
- Project Execution : Execute tasks based on project plans and specifications, ensuring precision in all excavation activities.
- Utility Installation : Assist with utility work (water, sewer, storm drain, conduits) and other site preparation activities.
- Site Safety : Adhere to all company safety protocols and perform daily equipment checks and routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Coordination with Team : Collaborate closely with the crew, foreman, and other equipment operators to meet project timelines and deliver high-quality work.
- Troubleshooting : Identify and report equipment issues to supervisors for timely repair and maintenance.-Site Cleanliness : Ensure worksite is clean and organized, and equipment is safely stored after each shift.
The ideal candidate should possess : -Experience : Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Excavator Operator in the commercial excavation field.
- Experience with Heavy Equipment machines over 100k lb is a must, NOT just forklifts and mini-machines.-Technical Knowledge : Proficient in operating heavy equipment, specifically excavators, with knowledge of site grading, trenching, and utility installation techniques.
- Safety Awareness : Strong understanding of safety practices in excavation and construction environments.-Communication Skills : Ability to follow instructions, work well with the team, and communicate effectively with supervisors.
- Physical Stamina : Capable of working in various weather conditions and able to lift up to 50 lbs as required.-Driver's License : Valid driver's license;
CDL is a plus but not required.-Compliance : Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
