InVision Communications is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Field Technician I to join our team. As a Field Technician, you will support project management and sales teams in the installation of cutting-edge audio, video, home automation, lighting control, and security systems in high-end residential and commercial properties. You will be responsible for ensuring project deliverables are completed within budget, on-time, and to client satisfaction. - Assist in the installation and configuration of A/V systems, home automation, lighting controls, security systems, and custom shades.
- Perform tasks such as pre-wiring, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Create daily work reports and maintain accurate records of installations, service calls, and system configurations.
- Collaborate with project management, sales, and engineering teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics to carry out installations.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure that installed systems perform optimally.
- Work with control systems such as Savant, Control4, Lutron, and Crestron.
- Follow safety protocols and company standards on job sites.
- Work independently and communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members.
- Occasionally work weekends, evenings, and overtime when required.
- Required:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Experience in the installation, integration, programming, and/or support of audio/video systems hardware, software, and infrastructure.
- Ability to work independently, troubleshoot, and creatively solve problems.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools in both new construction and finished environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, stand and walk for 8 hours a day, and drive daily.
- Preferred:
- Knowledge of Savant, Control4, Lutron, and Crestron control systems.
- Understanding of networking, design, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Google Docs and Google Sheets.
- Certifications such as CEDIA or InfoComm coursework in A/V systems installation.
- Experience in the A/V and control systems industry.
