Job Overview

AZ Grading & Underground LLC is seeking an experienced Equipment Operator/Grade Checker to join our team. This role requires proficiency in operating various heavy machinery, including Gannon tractors and blades, while also performing grade checking to ensure precision in grading and excavation work. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and experience in verifying elevations to meet project specifications accurately.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Operate heavy equipment, including Gannon tractors, blades, and excavators, to perform grading, leveling, and excavation tasks.
• Conduct grade checking using laser levels, GPS systems, and other measurement tools to ensure proper slopes and elevations.
• Interpret project plans and blueprints to accurately establish grades and alignments.
• Perform routine maintenance and safety inspections on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and reports for equipment usage, grade verification, maintenance, and project progress.
• Work closely with construction teams to ensure project deadlines and specifications are met.
• Identify and communicate any necessary adjustments to grading plans with supervisors.
• Monitor surroundings for safety hazards and strictly adhere to all safety regulations and policies.
• Assist other operators or team members with various construction tasks as needed.
  
  

Requirements

• Proven experience operating heavy equipment (e.g., Gannon, Blade, excavators, etc.) in grading and excavation.
• Experience in grade checking, including knowledge of laser levels, GPS grading systems, and blueprint reading.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in verifying elevations and slopes.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain and repair machinery as needed.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
