Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment, including but not limited to dozers, excavators, dump trucks, cranes, front loaders, backhoes, and water trucks.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance, including lubrication, filter changes, and cleaning air coolers.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on various equipment.
- Perform minor and major repairs, ensuring all equipment remains operational and safe.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety protocols.
- Keep accurate service and repair records for equipment maintenance logs.
- Collaborate with the operations team to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance.
- Willingness to work at different locations (Demo or Landfills) if required.
- Proven 3 years experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, preferably in a landfill or construction environment.
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working on Caterpillar, excavators, dozers, off-road dump trucks, tankers, front loader trucks, backhoes, and water trucks.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and schematics.
- Must have a valid driver's license and Social Security card.
- Ability to pass a drug/alcohol/physical test.
- Comfortable working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work alternating weekends if workload requires.
