Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Operate heavy machinery, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, and other construction equipment.
- Follow project specifications and safety regulations to complete utility and site work projects efficiently.
- Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and grade stakes.
- Work closely with site supervisors and other crew members to ensure job site safety and efficiency.
- Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks on machinery before and after use.
- Handle excavation work, trenching, grading, and backfilling as required by the project.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NYC DOB, and union safety regulations at all times.
- Assist with site preparation and cleanup as needed.
- Required Certifications:
- OSHA 30 Certification
- NYC DOB 40-Hour SST Certification
- NY State Dig 811 certification required
- Experience:
- Prior experience operating heavy equipment in a union setting.
- Proven ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently on commercial or government projects.
- Knowledge of utility and site work, including trenching, grading, and backfilling.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and construction specifications.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
