Job Overview

As a Multi-Skilled Carpenter, you will be responsible for a variety of carpentry tasks, including framing, finishing, cabinetry, and general repairs. You will work on both residential and light commercial projects, ensuring all work is completed efficiently and to a high standard. Other areas of responsibilities would include LVP flooring and tile installation, painting, staining and finishing woodwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Installs walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using materials such as: wood, steel, metal, concrete, plastics, and composites of multiple materials.
• Fits and installs window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, interior and exterior trim.
• Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground levels.
• Ability to read blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
• Shapes or cuts materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
• Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean environment.
• Builds or repairs cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools.
• Assembles and fastens materials to make frameworks or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.
• Removes damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand tools.
• Inspects ceiling or floor tile, wall coverings, siding, glass, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures.
• Moves necessary materials around the jobsite as assigned.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  
  

Qualifications

• Work independently or as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
• Capable of receiving and following instructions.
• Able to read and adhere to labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
• Attentive to detail and always alert to ensure safety.
• Strong working knowledge of job site safety.
• Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience in residential and light commercial construction preferred.
• Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and in various weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Requires experience across all trades.
• Expertise in framing, window installation, doors, sheetrock, and custom trim work.
• Experience in these areas is preferred (not required).
• Multi-skilled role-versatility is a must.
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience with drywall, painting, staining and finish of woodwork and LVP flooring and tile installation.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  
  

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
