Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Review and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications to prepare detailed estimates.
- Perform take-offs, bids, and proposals and develop accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Manage the bidding process, including soliciting and reviewing subcontractor and supplier proposals.
- Oversee project scheduling, ensuring alignment with timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to manage scope, changes, and expectations.
- Monitor ongoing projects to ensure quality standards and deadlines are met.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate project requirements and progress.
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including budgets, schedules, and reports.
- Uphold safety standards and compliance with OSHA and other regulations.
- Handle RFIs (Requests for Information), change orders, and submittals effectively to keep projects on track.
- Simultaneously manage multiple projects and balance competing priorities.
- Experience: Proven estimating and project management expertise with at least 7-10 years of experience in the concrete masonry and excavation industry.
- Technical Skills: Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, utilize estimating software, and manage complex project schedules.
- Licenses: Valid driver's license; additional certifications in OSHA, Fall Protection, or similar are highly desirable.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and clients.
- Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail in estimating, planning, and project execution.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to navigate challenges and provide innovative solutions.
